Word of 2015

Happy New Year!  Many wonderful blogs that I follow do a ‘Word of the Year’ instead of a ‘New Years Resolution’, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon this year!  After struggling to find a word that seemed to fit 2015 (which would be a year full of changes for me), my best friend gave me this necklace and bookmark, and right then I knew that my word of the year would be Peace.  While I am over the moon excited about being done with college in 2015, having to find a big girl job does kind of terrify me.  I am sort of 100% Type A and not having a concrete plan come May is really throwing me for a loop, but I know that God can give me a peace that surpasses my understanding.

Now may the Lord of PEACE himself give you PEACE at all times and in every way. The Lord will be with all of you. – 2 Thessalonians 3:16

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and PEACE as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit                                -Romans 15:13

The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with PEACE. -Psalm 29:11

What’s your word for 2015?

Love Always,

Amy Elizabeth

Peace Out 2014

2014 was filled with crazy adventures and hard life lessons, but I’m thankful for it all because through the good and the bad, I’ve learned things that no textbook could ever teach.  I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store!

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

Plum Paper Planner

I took a Management class this semester and through a personality quiz we had to take, confirmed what I already knew… I am very Type A.  I plan things way too far in advance and put everything on my to-do list (everything), which is why I am SO thrilled about my new planner from Plum Paper Designs.  I love planners, but I can never find one that is laid out how I want it; I make a daily list for each day a week at a time (I’ve been using the sad notepads on my laptop), but it’s nearly impossible to find planners like this- until now!  Plum Paper has a planner to fit every type of need including: Student Planners, Fitness Planners, Meal Planners, Family Planners, Teacher Planners, and Wedding Planners. I decided on one of their Regular Planners. Along with choosing from one of their many many gorgeous covers that can have your name and/or monogram, you get to choose which 12 month period you want (I chose January 2015 to December 2015). Each planner contains yearly, monthly and weekly at a glance pages, along with notes pages for each month, a contacts page, Holidays page and a ‘for keeps’ pocket where you can keep special memories for the year like ticket stubs or things you need like receipts.  My favorite thing about these planners is that Plum Paper allows you to choose your ‘Weekly Spread’ type.  I organize my day/to-do list by the order of things that need to get done, so I chose  ‘Option 3’ which is days with blank lines and then a checklist for each day (picture below). The best part?  Plum Paper is offering you 10% off when you use the code: BEAUTIFUL10

Leather Quote Wrap

One of my favorite quotes is, “Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away.”  When I found this quote on a leather wrap in C. Johannesen Studio’s Shop, I instantly fell in love with it.  C. Johannesen has a huge variety of leather bracelets in her shop among other things such as key chains and luggage tags.  I love that this shop has leather bracelets in a TON of varying thicknesses an styles.  If you can’t find a quote that you love, they will also do a custom quote wrap for you! The best thing about their wraps is that they’re made with a buckle closure which means they will adjust to ANY wrist size… yes any!  All of their items would make a great, personalized gift!

Your Perfect Summer Pedi

If you follow my blog you know that I am a huge Julep fan, and a fan of a good pedicure in general! For me, summer means sandals; between the months of March and October (especially in Texas) you won’t find me in closed toed shoes. I think that perfectly polished nails are an essential in life, so here is how you can get the perfect summer pedi you’ve been searching for, without the cost of going to a salon.

Julep Foot File: $6

1. Exfoliate: This is the step I always seem to put off because I’m usually in a rush, but Julep sells a perfect foot file, and at $6, it’s a steal!

Julep Mint Condition Pedi Creme: $20

2. Moisturize: I’m in love with Julep’s Rock Star Hand Creme, so if their Mint Condition Pedi Creme  is anything like it, it must be magical.

Julep Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat: $18

3. Prep: I religiously use a base coat (and top coat) on my nails; I think it makes the polish stay on much longer!

Julep Nail Color in Laree: $14

4. Color: The hardest part for me is always choosing the color!  I’m a huge fan of darker polishes, but in the summer I love fun bright ones! I decided on Julep’s Laree which is gorgeous and perfect for summer; check out all of Julep’s colors here!

Julep Freedom Polymer Top Coat$18

5. Top it Off: If you remember this post, you know that I am obsessed with Julep’s Freedom Polymer Top Coat; not only does it make your polish stay on ten times longer it also makes it look like gel. In addition, this top coat makes nail polish come off easier with remover.

Looking for the perfect gift for that Summer birthday?  Make a ‘Pedi Basket’ with all the essentials for a perfect ‘Do it at home’ pedicure!

Amy Elizabeth

Lilly Pulitzer Bows

If you love Lilly Pulitzer as much as I do, but hate the hefty price tag it brings, let me introduce you to Say It With Lilly on Etsy, run by the fabulous Katie Frost! Her shop sells Lilly fabric, phone skins, and most importantly bows, for a fraction of what Lilly usually costs! She has a ton of great prints for her bows, and you can choose a small or large barrette depending on the thickness of your hair (I chose large). Each bow is hand sewn with love.  I was lucky enough to receive a ‘Sparks Fly‘ Bow-a must have for Fourth of July, and a ‘Chin Chin’ Bow -which is perfect for summer! Even with my thick hair, the clip is sturdy enough to hold it all back. Enter the code: BREATHTAKING at checkout for 10% off!   If you’re looking for a ‘Lilly Perfect’ Fourth of July outfit, pair the Sparks Fly bow with Lilly’s Wiley Ruffle Tube Top in Navy!
