35 Things I Wish I Had Known At 18

I recently stumbled across a post on TFM from Rush to Rehab  (67 Things I Wish I Had Known At 18and loved her blunt, yet practical life advice, so I decided to make my own version.  Some are taken straight from her because I could not have said it better.


35 Things I Wish I Had Known At 18

1. Classes can be retaken. Life cannot (From Rush to Rehab) 

2. While it’s great to put other’s first, don’t forget about yourself

3. Find someone older than you to mentor you & learn from their mistakes

4. Love your body, you only have one

5. Set impossible goals & achieve them

6. Have childlike faith

7. Let the people you love know it, every single day

8. Eat the cupcake

9. It’s okay to confront people

10. Dream like a little kid dreams

11. You can question your faith, but don’t lose it

12. Travel by yourself, you’ll grow more than you can even imagine

13. We all need to ask for help sometimes

14. Be thankful for whatever internships you have, don’t spend your time complaining about what you’re doing; soak up any experience you can

15.  Eat real food, not ramen, not mac & cheese… Real food

16. All nighters won’t help you, they’ll only make you fall asleep during the test you stayed up all night studying for

17. Take pictures, document everything

18. It’s okay to sometimes lay in bed and cry

19. Journal

20. Go get your nails done, it will make you feel better

21. Friends will come and go

22. Give much more than you receive

23. YOU are worth it

24. Enjoy the little things in life, for some day you’ll realize those are the big things

25. No one is perfect; not you, not anyone else

26. Life is never fair

27. Love yourself. Sometimes you’re all you have (From Rush to Rehab) 

28. Don’t take anything for granted 

29. Cherish your friends, they’ll turn into your family

30. Splurge on Starbucks until you have a Gold Card

31. Different people are meant to play different roles in your life, learn this

32. Breakfast at Tiffany’s will always cheer you up

33. Never regret your mistakes, learn from them

34. The Christmas season cannot start until Starbuck’s Christmas Blend is out

35. Love unconditionally
